Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

I am a huge Harry Potter fan, but I must admit that I have only ever read the first two books and the final book in the series. So, I decided that since I haven't read the books, but have watched to movies to go ahead and read the entire series. I love the way that the characters are presented in the books. I love how Harry is very polite, but can be very sarcastic too, which you don't see in the movies.  (Possible Spoiler!) I also love how it's different in the books that when Harry, Hermione, and Draco get detention instead of Ron being the fourth it's Neville. There is so much more to the books than the movies. I am definitely going to continue reading the series. I give this a 5/5 stars.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

I just enjoyed this book. It was hard for me to read it though since I watched the movie before hand, but I prefer the book because it gives more details than what is shown in the movie. My favorite character is Newt and Minho. They both bring something that is often not found much in these kinds of books. They both can be really kind and sarcastic at times and it is really nice to see how they act around Thomas. I give this a 4/5 stars.

The After Party by Jana Prikryl

I loved this book. It was very evoking of the emotions and it allowed for images to be created in the mind. I love the way the cover was designed with colors that were not to vibrant. The poems inside were just wonderful in that each was different in content and in length which made of easy enjoyment. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading poetry. I give this a 4.5/5 stars.

Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife

I found this book very  difficult to read because it uses a lot of medical terms and definitions. I struggled in the beginning and at the end. Overall I enjoyed the book. It really give a new perspective on the afterlife and if there really is one.  I give this a 3.5/5 stars.

Wake by Lisa McMann

This was a very good book. I loved the way it was written. I wouldn't recommend this for younger readers because it does use a lot of swear words in it. The premise of the story was something I had heard of before, but told in the way Lisa tells it. I give this a 5/5 stars.

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

This was absolutely the best way to end the series. It was filled with passion, adventure, and was very intense. The ending was beautiful and it was not what you would expect. I wanted to cry, but yet I was filled with extreme joy as I closed the book. I will definitely be re-reading this entire series in the future. This was the best ending I could have hoped for. I give a 5/5 stars.

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

I absolutely loved this book. It just grabbed me from the start. I was a bit disappointed in the way it ended though because it didn't give me the answer I wanted for certain. It hints at it, but it doesn't out right with it. Also there were sometime points in the book were I wanted to go in and strangle the characters because they seemed to complacent or they were to flaccid. Even with these disappointments, I still devoured the book. I read almost the entire book in one day, but left the last few pages for the next day. I give this a 4.5/5 stars.
